YOU CAN TELL A LOT ABOUT SOMEONE BY THE TYPE OF MUSIC THEY LISTEN TO. HIT SHUFFLE ON YOUR IPOD, PHONE, ITUNES, MEDIA PLAYER ETC. AND WRITE DOWN THE FIRST 20 SONGS. THEN PASS THIS ON TO 10 PEOPLE. ONE RULE: NO SKIPPING.

1. K's Choice -- My Heart
2. The Mountain Goats -- Cotton
3. Metric -- Combat Baby
4. Natalie Merchant -- Saint Judas
5. Bif Naked -- You Are the Master
6. Dar Williams, Lucy Kaplansky, and Richard Shindell -- Down by the Water
7. Nashville cast (Connie Britton) -- Bitter Memory
8. Tracy Chapman -- Across the Lines
9. Nathan -- Scarecrow
10. Shane Koyczan and the Short Story Long -- Apology
11. Shivaree -- John, 2/14
12. Dave Gahan -- Dirty Sticky Floors
13. The Handsome Family -- Drunk by Noon
14. Old Man Luedecke -- Closing Time (Leonard Cohen cover on banjo your argument is invalid)
15. Placebo -- Devil in the Details
16. Hey Rosetta -- Another Pilot (fucking conscience is siding with the wrong siiiide)
17. The Ramones -- I Wanna Be Sedated
18. Kim Barlow -- Waterfall
19. The Tragically Hip -- Twist My Arm
20. Po Girl -- Deer in the Night

Even considering this is only 1.3% of the songs on my iPod rn, I'm surprised there's only one Tracy Chapman and amazed there's no Veda Hille.

Apparently it's time for the "ten most popular fanworks by hitcount" thing again? I didn't do it last year, probably because I was in Texas at the time, so I have no data for comparison. Also limiting this to fic because I don't post other stuff to AO3 (yet) but AO3 is the easiest gauge I have, and because I'm fairly certain that none of my non-fic fanworks are even near as viewed as these ten.
stuff wot I wrote, for the curious )

And while I'm linking to stuff on the AO3, here is an unbelievably precious and delightful, not to mention laugh-out-loud hilarious, story (by someone other than me) about living with people, domesticity, found family, disobedient brain-mouth circuits, and robots: Some Things Shouldn't Be a Chore. And while you're there, check out sabinelagrande because sabinelagrande is a synonym for awesome.
[livejournal.com profile] stainofmylove started this "Holiday wishlist meme" thing a few years ago (rules below, but basically you post a list of stuff, fannish, abstract, or material, that you want, and grant each other's wishes if you can) and I think it is pretty great, so I am going to do my best to participate and hope that some of you lovely folks on Dreamwidth will get into it too. I'm not sure why this has to be a "holiday"-specific thing, myself, but it does work better if everybody's playing at once, even though there are really no time limits, so I guess this arbitrarily selected season is as good as any. (SoML's list, btw, is here.)

The Rules )

My Wishlist )
You know this meme:
1. Reply to this post and I'll assign you a letter.
2. List 5 songs that start with that letter.
3. Post them to your journal with these instructions.

[personal profile] curgoth gave me the letter "T"

I delayed a bit on posting this, given that apparently at least one of the people I didn't realize was still reading my journal(s) thinks I yammer about politics (or particular political issues) far too much. I am willing to have that conversation but not here and not now (yes, passive-aggressive statement is passive-aggressive). For now, this is my journal and I will post what I want and given the situation that I am living just blocks west of, I feel this is plenty appropriate. Here's the Three Times Too Long, Too Political playlist: )
I can figure out how to upload all files in a .zip, if there's a desire. zips ahoy! I hope. Somebody lemme know if that worked?
